If you’re thinking of going to university, A-levels could be for you. A-levels are the most popular route to university-level study.
To study for A-levels at The Manchester College, you’ll need at least five GCSEs at grades A-C. If you haven’t yet got your GCSE results, we’ll ask if you’re likely to get five A-C grades.
Our students usually study three or four A-level subjects. We’ll give you all the support and advice you’ll need.

Vocational courses teach you the skills you need for a particular career. If you already know what you want to do, a vocational course could be for you.
We offer a range of qualifications, including BTECs, NVQs, City & Guilds and Diplomas. You can study at foundation, intermediate or advanced level on most of these courses.
You can still apply to university if you choose vocational study. Many degree and university-level courses accept vocational qualifications at advanced level.
When you come to see us, we’ll ask you to complete an initial assessment. This is nothing to worry about. It’s so we can put you on the right level of course.

As an apprentice, you can start work and earn a wage while studying for a qualification. If you want to learn on the job, an apprenticeship could be for you.
Our apprenticeships have been designed with the help of employers. This means you’ll learn the right skills to do your job well.
You’ll train on the job and you’ll also come in to college to take classes for your qualification. This is either by day release or over a block of days.
