What's the course about?This course aims to develop skills and understanding of practical implementation, configuration and management of remote access networks. Learners will be taught the process and practice of design, technical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis to enable them to build a remote access network. It is suitable for those who are already employed in system support roles in the IT industry and who wish to develop further knowledge and skills to support and/or extend their work activities.

The course is delivered via blended learning, which comprises lectures with on-screen demos and Cisco academy curriculum material with hands-on lab exercises. You will be assessed on practical lab activities and a portfolio of work that you will build up. You will be assessed on a portfolio and online Cisco exams. How long is the course and when will it be taught?CCNP 3 (semester 7) takes 15 weeks to complete either by day release or one evening per week for 30 weeks.Where is the course taught? What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course? CCNA is required and experience of network administration and management is preferred. Students must have prior experience of configuring Cisco routers. It would be preferable to have completed Semesters 4 and 5 of CCNP: Building Scalable Networks and Multilayer Switched Networks. Which qualifications will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course? You will be awarded an OCR IT Practitioners Systems Support Level 4 qualification. What will I be able to do after I've completed this course? By completing further units, you may progress to Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) status. In addition there are progression routes onto NVQ Level 4 courses and graduate apprenticeships. The course can also lead to systems administration and management roles in small to medium sized IT infrastructures. How do I apply?
