Dynamic Web Design Using JavaScript

What's the course about?

This unit is aimed at those candidates who want to create dynamic web pages. It is primarily targeted at web developers who need to build interactive web sites, where using plain HTML is not sufficient and more functionality is required. The unit covers the most common applications of JavaScript: forms, data validation, event handlers and other dynamic event-driven and
time-driven features. It also includes some material on validating the source code and HTML standards.

Areas covered include:
• JavaScript concepts and syntax
• Forms and data validation
• Event handlers and dynamic web pages

Students will be expected to create a simple web site that uses JavaScript for different purposes.
Students will gain a pass, merit, or distinction.

How long is the course and when will it be taught?

Students can attend one three hour session per week for 10 weeks or two three hour sessions per week for five weeks.

At Manchester New Technology Institute (MNTI), One Central Park, Northampton Road, Manchester.

Applicants should have excellent computer skills, including a basic knowledge of HTML.

You will be awarded a MANCAT certificate.

On completion of this course you may progress onto further studies in the following areas: Apache, PHP, web programming, Dreamweaver, Flash, and web design.
