BECOME an Apprentice

The Manchester College is the largest college in the north west and one of the region's leading training providers.

We have a great deal of experience in training apprentices and can help you with everything from applying for a vacancy right through to gaining a qualification.

Why should you choose an Apprenticeship?

  • You can train while you work and still get paid
  • You’ll learn the very latest skills relevant to your job
  • You’ll train at college campuses with the best facilities
  • You’ll get a nationally recognised qualification
  • You’ll be supported by a qualified assessor and mentor

How do Apprenticeships work?

An Apprenticeship lets you earn while you learn. You’ll train on the job, earning a wage, and get a nationally recognised qualification from The Manchester College. You'll do most of your learning at work and come to some classes at college. The type of training you’ll do at college depends on the subject area of your Apprenticeship. It might be based in a classroom, in a workshop or in the workplace.

Who can apply for an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are open to anyone over 16. Whether you’re a school leaver who needs to learn the basics of a job or an employee who wants to improve your skills, an Apprenticeship could be for you.

If you are currently unemployed or looking to change jobs, we can work with you to find a suitable employer and Apprenticeship. Alternatively, if you already have a job (or a job offer) we can work with your employer to help you become their apprentice.
